Tenten is a fierce ninja of the Hidden Leaf Village and a member of Team 9. She's an expert in weapon based combat.
Tenten is a young-tomboyish girl who was born and raised in the Village Hidden in the Leaves in the Land of Fire. She attended the Ninja Academy and she graduated at 12 years-old, a year before Naruto Uzumaki and his team. She was assigned to Team 9 with her classmates Neji Hyuga and Rock Lee. The ninja master they were assigned to was the Jonin, Might Guy, an outlandish and unique personality. Despite his personality flaws, he is the village's highest ranked expert in Taijutsu. Tenten specialized in summoning weapon jutsu's and dreams to become a strong Female Ninja, just like Sannin of the Leaf Village, Lady Tsunade. Guy would hold Team 9 back for one year before entering them for the Chunin Exams, so they could gain experience first and allow them to mature.
Tenten is a supporting character of the Naruto series that was created by Masashi Kishimoto, It first began serialization Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in November 1999. She was first introduced during the Chunin Exam Arc, which began in Volume 4.
Kishimoto has said in interviews that he prefers Tenten over the other four Hidden Leaf girls he designed because of how much he likes her look. Despite saying this, he has barely used Tenten. She has had no canon back story told, unlike the rest of the supporting cast; and none of her fights have ever been seen in the manga. Only the start and aftermath. As with most of the Team Guy, she is given a primarily Chinese design.
Tenten's name comes from the fact that she supposedly never misses a target she's aiming at. She has "Ten" shots and "Ten" hits. The original colour images from the manga has shown her original outfit was coloured blue, but they are colour pink in the anime. Her outfit after the time skip is coloured in the anime to match the manga design. Though she has started low in the fan polls of the Naruto characters, she has had slow and steady improvement in her rankings. In the previous three polls she has held the ranks of 29th, 24th, and 22nd. Tenten and Shino Aburame are the only embers of the the Naruto supporting cast that have had no stories told about their youth.
Tenten and the rest of her squad were designed with a Chinese aesthetic in mind. This is far more obvious in Tenten. She wears a pink Chinese-style top and pants, and her long brown hair is always shown wrapped in twin buns on the top of her head. She wears her Leaf forehead protector on her forehead. Little of Tenten's personality or story is ever shown much in the story. What little is shown is that she's a type of character who is determined to prove that a girl can do anything a boy can. This is an issue that she and Neji have disagreements about. The person she has most admired growing up is Lady Tsunade, the grand daughter of the First Hokage. Tsunade is a legend of the Hidden Leaf Village that was far stronger than many of the male ninja of her time. Tenten has been shown to be a bit boy crazy. When she is first introduced to both Sasuke Uchiha and Kakashi Hatake, she has remarks about how cute they are. Tenten has been show to spend a lot of time with Neji and assists him in practicing his Byakugan-based jutsu.
For the filler arc episode in the first Naruto anime series that happened between Episodes 136-220. For these parts of the story, she was given hip holsters on both sides to hold her weapon scrolls. In the filler Cursed Warrior arc (Ep. 162-167), Tenten becomes overexcited at the idea they will be paid extra for the mission they were assigned. This seems to imply that she could also be a money lover. It's unknown if any of these personality traits have any level of canon to the original manga story.

After a two year time skip in the manga series, Tenten is now at the age of 17 years old and reached the rank of Chunin at 15. Her design changed very little with the exception of her clothes. She keeps a Chinese top, but this one is white with long sleeves, she wears finger-less gloves, short Japanese hakama pants, her hair is still in twin buns, and she now keeps a large scroll with her. Her and Team 9 were sent to back up Naruto and Sakura Haruno when they left to rescue Gaara from the Akatsuki. After this mission, she rarely appears and her squad were not present for Pain's invasion of the Leaf Village. She has been seen during the Fourth Shinobi War in a basic Chunin design with combat vest. In the battle she discovered a weapon that was left behind by the defeated Kinkaku. It was a tool that was rumored to belong to the Sage of the Six Paths, the Bashōsen.
Major Story Arcs
Chunin Exams Arc
Tenten is the only female member of Guy's team. She was first seen during the Chunin Exams arc where she made it to the preliminaries but lost to Temari (due to an elemental disadvantage).
Powers and Abilities
She has two main jutsu that she uses. The first is her summoning jutsu (Summoning Jutsu! Spiral Scrolls! Iron Barrage!). She grabs a single scroll and summons vast amounts of weapons to throw at her target, it can be considered a weak jutsu because the scroll obstructs her vision and thus lowers her accuracy to (min) 70/100. Her 2nd is the Rising Twin Dragons. She uses this to summon weapons faster and more efficiently, this jutsu,
