|Attack on Titan Episode List|
In the year 850, Keith yells at his trainees to run faster as they run through the forest in the pounding rain. Keith remarks that Armin will be food for the Titans if he doesn't catch up. Reiner grabs Armin's backpack to help Armin. Though Armin takes it back to prove himself. In a training exercise where trainees practice slicing through a Titan dummy's neck, Keith analyzes the recruits based on their strengths and weaknesses. While Jean searches for a fresh Titan dummy, Connie swoops to attack it first. However, Sasha steals the kill. Elsewhere in the forest, Mikasa slashes deep into the dummy's neck while Eren manages to make a shallow cut. Eren pushes himself to improve as he goes back to try again.
In another training exercise, Eren flips and throws Reiner on the ground. Reiner hands Eren the play knife while Eren remarks it's idiotic to attack someone unarmed. Reiner states that they have to be ready especially when they are disadvantaged. He and Eren notices Annie is slacking off. Reiner has Eren take on Annie. When Eren charges at Annie, Annie kicks Eren's leg. As Eren tells her to do the proper way and Reiner tells Annie that she has to take Eren's dagger, Annie knocks down Eren. Annie tosses the knife to Reiner, and when Eren reminds Reiner about a soldier's responsibilities, Annie knocks down Reiner. Annie explains that her father taught her martial arts and that the top fighters join the military police. She asks Eren why people - who are better equipped to fight the Titans, are more farther from the Titans.
Then, Eren attempts to overpower Annie only to be subdued by Annie. Later at dinner, Armin states that these individuals are preserving the knowledge in order to pass it down to the newer generation. Then, Jean hits Marco and remarks that Marco wants to live in the interior to lead a safer life. Eren asks Jean about this predicament. Then the two get into an argument. Eren uses Annie's martial arts on Jean and asks Jean if he can call himself a soldier. When Keith enters the cabin, he asks what was the commotion about. Mikasa lies and says it was Sasha farting, which convinces Keith. Upon reaching graduation, Keith informs the trainees about three options: the Garrison, the Survey Corps, and the Military Police. The faculty reveals the top ten students (listed in the eyecatches).
During the celebratory feast, Thomas asks why Eren refuses to join the military police due to his high scores. Eren replies that he never trained to be a solider in the interior. Thomas reminds him that they have lost over 20% of their people and that no one can defeat the Titans. With the atmosphere turned bleak, Eren states that he will not abandon hope nor let everyone's death be in vain, and vows to exterminate the Titans. As Eren left the room, Mikasa and Armin follow him. Both Armin and Mikasa states that he will join the Survey Corps. Mikasa explains that she does not want to lose any more family.
Next day, Commander Erwin, Captain Levi, and the rest of the main Survey Corps forces return home. Everyone is cheering on the troops due to how much troops have return alive. Hannes arrives to apologize to Eren for not saving his mother. Eren states that it is not Hannes's fault and informs him that he will not let anyone die. On the top of the walls, Eren finds out that Thomas, Connie, Sasha, and the others join the Survey Corps. Sasha arrives with some meat she has stolen. Suddenly, a Colossal Titan appears right behind Eren. The gang is knocked over the walls. While Sasha saves Samuel, Eren notices the wall is cracked open. Eren urges everyone to mobilize.
