Plot[]
A young man named Harumi Kazuhito is living in a small apartment in a suburb of Tokyo, with books lining the walls of his room. He talks about how his parents issued him an ultimatum, to get into a good college if he wanted them to keep funding his habit, so he decided to live by himself, studying and reading while staying close to his favorite bookstore. He also monologues about a famous author, Akiyama Shinobu, who has written several different novels in a variety of genres from erotic fiction to kids fantasy stories, and the seventh part of her deadly sins-themed series ("Lust") that he has been waiting for.
One day, when he gets some coffee at a cafe, Harumi finds himself in the middle of a robbery as an angry man with a shotgun points it at the girl in the seat next to him. The girl seems enthralled with her own writing and pays no heed to the robber, but Harumi jumps up and wrestles with the weapon, before taking a shotgun shell to the face.
Seeing his life flash before his eyes, Harumi begs some unseen force to let him live until he can read Shinobu's last book. His wish appears to be answered as he finds himself pulled into the body of a rescued dachshund in a pet shop. After spending several days trapped in a pet cage, begging for something to read, but unable to be understood as his speech comes across as barking. Suddenly, a tall, raven-haired woman appears in the pet shop and demands to buy him.
After taking him home, the woman ties him up and tells Harumi that his mind kept echoing in her head, and her name is Natsuno Kirihime. After realizing that Natsuno is the same woman he saved in the cafe, he begins explaining his own situation. Natsuno takes a shower, then cuts Harumi loose and lets him walk around her massive library. She then reveals that she is the real author behind Akiyama Shinobu's stories, using the name as a penname.
The episode ends as Natsuno and Harumi return to Harumi's apartment building, looking for something.
