Plot[]

Eren Yaeger and everyone he knows lives within a giant walled city, one of a few, housing what is left of the human race from the race of man-eating, humanoid giants outside them known as the Titans. For 100 years, the walls have kept the Titans at bay while the humans try to send out scouting parties to expand their reach. But all that changes in an instant with the appearance of brand new Titans that smash through the outer walls. Suddenly, Eren is ripped away from the world he once knew, with only one thought on his mind to keep him going: revenge against the Titans.

Manga[]

Written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, it ran in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on August 9, 2009. Its first tankobon volume is released on March 17, 2010. Kodansha Comics licensed the manga series for North America and released it on June 19, 2012.

Anime[]

The anime is produced by WIT Studio in collaboration with Production IG. Its music is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and its characters are designed by Kyoji Asano.

Eren Yaeger (゚レン・むェヌガヌ Eren Yēgā)

Eren dreams of venturing outside the walls to be free. When his mother is killed by a Titan, he is bent on revenge and joins the Survey Corps to wipe out all Titans.

Mikasa Ackerman (ミカサ・アッカヌマン Mikasa Akkāman)

  • Voiced by: Yui Ishikawa
  • Affiliation: Survey Corps
  • Gender: Female, Age: 15

After a tragic loss in her childhood, she is adopted into Eren's family. When Shiganshina District is invaded by Titans, she joins Eren in the military to stay with him and protect him.

Armin Arlert (アルミン・アルレルト Arumin Arureruto)

  • Voiced by: Marina Inoue
  • Affiliation: Survey Corps
  • Gender: Male, Age: 15

A close friend of Mikasa and Eren. He joins the Survey Corp to fight alongside them.
